Covid-19 Testing Information
It is not the responsibility of GP Practice to organise coronavirus tests. If you have coronavirus symptoms or have been asked to get a test you can visit the gov.uk website to organise this, or call 119 if you cannot use the online service.
Coronavirus symptoms are:
- a high temperature
- anew, continuous cough
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
You can get a test for someone you live with if they have these symptoms. Do not get tests for people you live with who do not have these symptoms.
You can also get a test if:
- you live in England and have been told to have a test before you go into hospital, for example, for surgery
- your local council asks you to get a test
- you’re taking part in a government pilot project
Only get a test if you have coronavirus symptoms or if you have been asked to get tested. This will help make sure that people who need a test can get one.
We are aware that the testing service is currently very busy – Gov.uk advises to try again in a few hours if you cannot book a test now, or if the location or time are not convenient.
